I staggered back to the large golden bed on shaky legs as blood pounded in my ears. What the hell was wrong with me? Why hadn’t I asked the rogue what he wanted in return for his favor? What had I been thinking? “Stupid, stupid Elena,” I cursed myself, holding my head in my hands to let out the hiccuped sob that had been building in my throat since that awful night at the altar. I had just made a deal with the devil, and I was afraid now, that it was going to cost me something more than my soul.

I am not that kind of girl. “Aimee, just tell me for fuck sake”, he says, slamming his hands on the table making me jump. I look at him, telling him I don’t want his money and that I will figure something out, but Alec walks towards me and bends down, looking into my eyes. “I’ll make you a deal”, he says, and I frown, looking at him. Why would I make a deal with the devil? Why would I make a deal with him?

"And I would like to explore it," I said immediately, holding onto his hands. I didn't know what I was doing and if this was desperation, but I wanted to be free tonight. Dora would be proud to know I bagged a man, and that I was getting over my depression phase.

“But only if you keep your word. After the child is born, I want to leave. I want to live in the mountains. Alone. You will support me, but never come near me again.” He stared at me for a moment. Then nodded. “Done.” And just like that, my life changed again. I had made a deal with the devil, but little did I know things were about to take a drastic turn.

I sat and stared at Balor as he leaned on his desk, placing his hand under his chin. "You promised me a favour, and now that I've completed my end of the deal, it's time you complete yours." I slipped back into my favourite mask and nodded, not really knowing what else to do. Because I had just made a deal with the devil's brother-in-law, and I could only pray to Terra that it wouldn't cost me my life. "Of course," The corner of his lip tipped up in amusement, and my stomach flipped as my nerves set in. Not that he could see it on my face as I steeled my expression, but something told me he still knew I was on edge.
