Ruth POV I decided to meet up with my friends Emily and Sarah at a coffee shop to tell them about Alex. As I sat down at the table, they could tell that something was different about me. "Ruth, what's going on?" Emily asked, noticing the smile on my face. "I met someone," I said, barely containing my excitement. Sarah's eyes widened. "Tell us everything!" I took a deep breath and told them about Alex - about how we met, our first date, and how I was feeling.

I can feel the blush rising in my cheeks but I try and keep it under wraps. "It's rather new" I say. "Where did you meet?" She presses on, not taking the hint of me trying to shut it all down. "A bar" I reply after a few moments of hesitation. I was trying to remember the story that Rhodes told those people last night at the ball but I can't remember for the life of me. People meet in bars, especially people my age. I hate how complicated this whole thing is, it shouldn't have to be like this.

I hope to see you around here again soon." I smiled, feeling a sense of hope. "Thanks, Emily. I appreciate it." As I stepped out of the café, I felt excitement. I really loved the sightseeing; a lot of people were in the reception, and I did not know when I mixed up with the crowd. "Oh my goodness, I am so sorry," a guy said to me as he bumped into me. "It's fine, I was not looking as well", I said to him. I turned to look at him, and then I realized it was the guy who I bumped into at a certain time, and I also met him when I went for a conference with Carsen. "Hello, is this a miracle or something? Can you remember me?" he said to me as he turned to look at who he had bumped into.

‘I need to make you mine completely’, I thought to myself, and on cue, my phone lit up, displaying a message from someone I had been expecting to come in contact with. ‘Can we meet?’

From the sounds of it, Mia had done nothing to encourage this kind of behavior, yet this guy decided to still try to push her boundaries. “I agree. I think the only way to meet someone is to-” she sucks in a breath between her teeth, making a hissing sound before continuing, “get out of the house, find some hobby, and hope to meet someone that way. Too bad I'm not good at anything and don't have any hobbies.”

’ She insisted. “Um…so I’m sorry about the coffee.” I apologized. What a start to our relationship. Some day if we have kids and they ask how we met, I’m going to have to tell them I threw coffee on him. Even if we don’t have kids, my sisters and other people will want to hear how we met. Crista can say she met Alec in her darkest days. Katrina says she met Tie in her dreams. André says he met Darren in the heat of battle. And I’m going to say I threw coffee on him. Ugh.
