I was cut off with a book flying towards me and landing in my hands. I stared at the book in my hands, shaking. It had moved on its own. It listened to me. “No… this can’t be real,” I whispered, my voice barely there. The book glowed softly, like it knew me. Like it had been waiting for me. I placed it on a nearby table and took a step back. “I didn’t mean to do that,” I said. But deep inside, I knew I had meant it. I wanted to see if it would work. And it did.

But those words never followed me into the hallways, where laughter stuck to my back like something I couldn’t peel off. “Hey, move.” I shifted before I even looked up. I always did. It was easier that way—less eye contact, less chance of becoming the center of whatever joke they were about to make. My books slipped a little in my arms, but I held them tighter. “Did you hear me?” one of them said, stepping closer. “I moved,” I muttered. “Not fast enough.” The shove wasn’t hard enough to knock me down, just enough to remind me that it could’ve been worse. It was always like that—just enough.

The people of the city fell to their knees. 💔 And for the first time since arriving here… Ilyaan felt true fear. Not fear of death. Not fear of the King. Fear of something he couldn’t understand. 😨 ⸻ 🌙 The Name That Vanished The Book of Origins burned with black flames. 🔥📖🔥 Its pages turned violently. Words appeared and disappeared. Names were written. Then erased. ⚡ The Keeper stared at the book. His face pale. 💀

I took the book up, and with the ravaging anger that lives within me towards this book, I tried throwing the book to my door. As the book was about to hit the door, it got itself suspended in the air. Looking at the book suspended in air, I started growing phobia in myself, my feet are not stable anymore as I know this is not a matter of gravitational force but a matter of dark souls that lives in the book. The book instead of hitting the door and fall on the floor, started moving toward me. My room is in the second stairs as my house is a two story building. Right behind me is the window and I have no idea of what to do, as am about to reach the window the way the book approach me.

What the hell is happening here? “What the fuck?” I say. Is this some kind of prank that Victor’s decided to pull? He should know that we are not in high school anymore, and this kind of behaviour is nothing but stupid. I don’t understand what this means, but I know it’s nothing good. I don’t know what to do. Should I touch the book? Should I even go near it? What if something bad happens to me if I do touch the book? The book finally stops moving, and it stays on one page. There’s an image in the book. I look hard at what’s being portrayed, and it’s the image of a beast with large horns.

I only had a year to find my answers, no distractions was a good way to start. "Venus, honey, are you ready?" My mom called me from the kitchen, as I opened my bedroom door. "Yes, mom be right there." I called back. Walking towards the kitchen, I was singing Famous Last Words out loud. "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone, honey if you stay I'll be forgiven, Nothing you can say can stop me going home. Can you see my eyes are shining bright? Cause I'm out here on the other side of a jet black hotel mirror and I'm so weak..."

Inside the Archive, the shelves moved with my breath. I passed by a book bound in velvet dusk. Its title: The First Time You Chose Softness Over Safety. Another: How You Loved When No One Was Looking. I reached for a third. It burned with light before revealing its name: What You Became When You Stopped Trying to Be Understood. I wept then—not from pain, but from reunion. The guide touched my shoulder. “There’s one more,” they said. They led me to a door I hadn’t noticed.

I should lay her down on that bed and worship her body until she believes, truly believes that she is the only woman I want. But I can't. I stand frozen in the doorway, my feet rooted to the stone floor, my hands hanging uselessly at my sides. Every instinct screams at me to move, to act, to be the husband she deserves. But something deeper holds me back. Something broken. Something that looks at June and sees a stranger. "Kai." Her voice softens. Not with forgiveness, with resignation. "Please. I just need you to try." I take a step forward. Then another.

The Book didn't speak in words. It spoke in feelings—a pull beneath my ribs, a warmth that spread through my chest, a whisper that sounded like my own voice but older. I woke in the deepest dark, the room cold and still, my heart already pounding. The Book was on my desk where I'd left it, but it was open now, its pages turning without wind. I sat up slowly, my breath misting in the air, and I watched the silver script shift and rearrange itself like water finding a new path.
