Evelyn sat comfortably on a boulder by the river, her bony calves swaying one by one in mid-air, her delicate, beautiful skirt fluttering up and down like a butterfly, her wings full of fragrance and joy. She looked to the fireflies that floated on the river - but not really fireflies, but some sort of creatures that emitted a faint light just like fireflies. These flickering, faint lights clustered together and spread out in all directions, joining the two moons high in the night sky, reflecting a marvelous light on the silent river. Brian brings River's hand to his face and presses his lips to the back of his hand. River takes a sharp breath in and swoons at the gesture. His legs felt like noodles and he was sure he wouldn't be able to walk any further... That was until they heard the screams and cries that suddenly rang out. River quickly moves forward, plastering himself to his mate as he looks around, terrified when he hears growls and howls in the distance.
