Unspoken Truths - Chapter 46 Damian Alexxa’s Scotch Bar was all chrome and noise, just like everything else in this city, trying to be upscale. Lessia called this one of the best. She needs to get back to New York, where real scotch bars don’t blast EDM or serve whiskey with LED lights like some frat-boy science experiment. I wasn’t in the mood for the loud music, the girls who kept trying to flirt with us, or even the overpriced scotches. We were just here to blend in, and watch, to make sure our girls got home safely.

Familiar? The small gust swirled around them, making their hair dance and loose blades of grass sway in the air. The book trembled in the center of them as the cover jerked, threatening to open. With another wave of air, the cover flipped open to a blanket page. How strange. No text? How can they..? Everything went white.

The kind of night where alliances are made, and sometimes broken. I'd planned to go alone. But that changed the moment I noticed the book in Shirley's tote bag. It was an old edition of Founders at War—a notoriously dense text about startup strategy, market shifts, and Silicon Valley history. Most people couldn't get through the first chapter. But Shirley had sticky notes on almost every page. This—this was the Shirley I remembered. The one who used to challenge assumptions. The one who used to dream. So when we were on the way to a meeting that afternoon, I turned to her.

"I'll give you a hand. I have nothing else to do." "Well, pick up a book and start reading," Laura said and Mark passed her a heavy, leather-bound book with faded writing on the front. "If there is anything even remotely useful in it then it goes on the pile by the staircase, if it's not useful it goes on the pile by the window." There was only one obvious pile: the one by the window. It was stacked high with books that Laura and Mark had looked through and found to be unhelpful. Indianna made her way to a chair and sat down, opening the book. She looked around at the library and swallowed. There were thousands of books. Was it possible that one of them had something that could help them?

Maybe it’s a Virtus thing and Randy does the same. Hastily, I closed the door and rushed over to the shelf. Hmm…. All the books look new like they’ve never touched a hand or a finger. They’re neatly stacked and organised in alphabetical or….der? Hmm? ‘Gone with the wind’? ‘G’ doesn’t stand between ‘V’ and ‘X’. I held my breath as I pulled out the book Click. Something close unlocked itself and the shelf shuddered. Is it me or did the shelf just relaxed itself like a spring?

The clouds above were churning low, like a storm had forgotten how to break. At the bookstore, the front light flickered once when she unlocked the door. Then again when she stepped inside. The air was stale in a way it had never been before, like the whole shop had held its breath while she was gone. Shelves creaked softly behind her as she turned on the desk lamp. She froze. A stack of books near the window was toppled — somehow all collapsed outward in a perfect spiral. No wind. No draft. Just… rearranged. She picked up the top book. Dreams in the Soil. She didn’t remember shelving this. Its leather cover was warm in her hands. Almost too warm. She opened it, just to check for a bookmark

My vision grew hazy, and my body began to writhe almost on its own. I knew I shouldn't be like this, but my body was no longer under my control. And maybe in Mr. Palmer's eyes, the way I was behaving right now was no different from an outright invitation. Perhaps it was the sudden stimulation, but Mr. Palmer trembled slightly as well. He then looked down at me, his breathing growing noticeably ragged. "Ruby, are you feeling uncomfortable? Let me help you feel better, okay?"

The book was bound in old leather and the binding had seen better days, the pages stained in yellows and almost browns. Some of the pages seemed to be bent over with

Maybe that is the reason why I have no problem in communicating even if I don’t talk to people much. ‘This Time I Will Not Love You' This novel sounds so hurting. A very interesting book caught my attention. Unlike the others, it was… handwritten.

All it took was some kind words to get this book to where it is now and that's why I keep on saying, I LOVE Y'ALL I know that I once completed this book before having written only twenty chapters but y'all still stayed for more when I decided to prolong it and that meant a lot I can't believe we've come this far and it's all thanks to all of you The book is now almost coming to an end Will Andrea finally get her wish to be unshattered or will it all end up with her being shattered instead.
