My hand reached for the doorknob but I stopped when I realized that they were discussing about me. He was not alone, his beta and gamma both were there with him. But why is he discussing about me with them?

Everything was finally clear to him, and he felt dumb after realizing the truth. "All of this was a set up from the beginning. You guys were all hoping that I made a mistake. That's why you and the elders brought me here at such a young age and allowed me to get close to Snow. So when the time comes for me to execute the Wright family, I won't have the heart to kill Snow, and you old fools can have an excuse to get rid of me. You have been converting my position from the very beginning." Angel stated in rage. "I thought you would have to go to the afterlife before figuring it out. “Because you’re with me.” I stared at him, the fear and confusion warring with something else…something I couldn’t name. “What now?” He stood, offering me his hand. “Now, we run.” I stared at his outstretched hand, my chest tightening. His words echoed in my mind: Because you’re with me. It wasn’t an apology, but it felt like one. The faint sounds of shouts and hurried footsteps snapped me back to reality. They were still looking for us. There was no time to dwell on anything but survival.

I hit the floor hard, and everything went black. Just before I lost consciousness, I saw him pull a knife from the drawer and start walking toward me. “You brought this all on yourself.”

He asks in a soft voice, no sarcasm, no mocking. "I know where he is," I say to him without looking at him. "What?" He got tense, "Suhana!" I draw my attention to him as he demands it. He shakes his head in disapproval, "I can allow this. You didn't know last time...." He pauses for a second, "I haven't seen him hurt before. We are going back. " "Please, I've already planned it. I'm not alone. I've involved the police too." I plead.

He stormed off after dropping his piece, leaving me with more questions and a bruised neck as proof that I was almost killed. What does he mean? Does he suspect that I'm with his father? Multiple thoughts appeared in my mind, and I was so distracted that I didn't notice someone creeping up behind me. “Miss Hazel!” Someone tapped my shoulder. I jumped forward in shock, letting out a scream in the process. “Ah!” Suddenly turning around, I came face-to-face with Beta Jeff.

Coffee sloshed out and stained my files. "What's wrong? Haven't gotten that rich heir act out of your system yet? Coming to the office to keep performing?" I pulled out a tissue to wipe my hands, not bothering to look at him. "Kevin, did you finish paying off that 50 grand? Or are those credit card interest charges still piling up?" He paused and turned to look at me, his hand still wrapped around my wrist. Not enough to hurt, but enough to make me realize he had no intentions of letting me go anytime soon. “Watch duty,” he murmured. “You are coming with me.” “I thought I was on Levi’s team,” I said, my tone coming out breathy and unfamiliar. I hated the effect he had on me; having him with me on this watch duty was probably the worst idea ever. Especially alone…
