I said. "What? Do I look like a clown to you?" the King asked in a menacing tone that would have sent any ordinary man scurrying out of the room, but I was no ordinary man. I was the Prince of Shadowmoor and I was not going to allow the King get away with dictating my life for me; not any longer.

There was no sign of a bruise or pain. “I can’t believe you are still fascinated by it.” The king spoke, watching me with his hands crossed over his chest. “Well, it’s not every time you find someone with superpowers.” I exclaimed. “You do know you live in a world full of werewolves, right?" “Yeah, but I never met anyone with powers different from the rest.” I said, then my eyes widened as I stared at the king with a smile that I was sure would make me look crazy. “You're the king.”

His hand on her burned my vision like salt rubbed in a cut. I ruled as King. I owned the palace and crown. But alone in the mud, I felt like nothing more than a beggar.
