There is a Past and then there is a Present. What should be our choice? To go along with the Past, feeling the familiarity of it or to go along with the Present, wishing for something new and hoping it to be amazing? With Past, we already know what to expect and know that it will not hurt the same if something goes wrong again. With Present, we don’t know what to expect and also feel that it may hurt even more than ever. So, should we let go of the past or ignore the present? With all these confusing and unanswerable questions there are a few people who are ready to tell you their story. This is the story of one among such people who has a tough but again, not so tough choice to take between past and present. Hope whatever choice that person takes will be near to perfect one, or at least far away from worst.

“Get married to my son if you ever want your father to be released!” Mr. Carter uttered the very words that would end up turning my life around. I knew he wasn't joking. The look on his face was all the evidence I needed. I knew I had to do it because it was the only choice I have left, but... I'll not go down without a fight! "I, Althea Ruiz, swear on my life that I will never get married to Adam Wilson!" I said out loud, my voice echoing through the room. "We'll see about that!" Adam said through the phone. *With blood on the line and an arranged marriage as ransom, Althea has to make the most difficult choice of her life; abandon her boyfriend of six years and get married to a man that no one has seen for the last ten years. "I am pregnant," I say looking into his years intensely but his face is emotionless. "What?" He asked stunned, he paces around for a few minutes" I can't take care of a child right now" he snaps holding the table tightly. "We have to because I have nowhere to go," I say pleading for acknowledgment and understanding. "What do you mean?" He questioned eyeing me suspiciously. " my parents disowned me," I say looking down in shame. "I will take you in but don't expect me to care for you and your baby because all this means nothing to me" he glanced at me before walking out of his office. Tears run down my cheeks, feeling of embarrassment, and lost claws in my heart. I lost everything, my family, my self-esteem, I feel lost and worthless. Most of all I lost love.

The journey to hell starts with the happiness within our smiley face, unexpected the fear after. The place that we've to expect as paradise was wrong cause there is no paradise after our first step and the sad part there is no turning back after you enter the gate of mystery and fear. We've locked in this place and we don't know what we will gonna go to, we're like screaming dead and no one listens.

Our wedding anniversary also happens to be our son's birthday. A month in advance, I carefully plan a family trip for the three of us—me, my husband, and our son. But right before we're supposed to leave, both of them suddenly disappear on me. I'm left standing alone in the pouring rain, dialing their numbers. On the other end, my son's young voice comes through, sounding cold and impatient. "Dad's having dinner with Ms. Moore. We don't want to go anymore." The call ends, and I'm blocked. Later that night, they intentionally lock me out of the house. I'm left standing in the freezing cold all night long. Soaked from the rain, I come down with a high fever and develop pneumonia. Meanwhile, my husband and son are off vacationing with Sophia Moore, smiling for a happy family photo with just the three of them. And in that moment, I know this marriage has truly come to an end.

Vikram pulled her chin up, forcing her to look at him. "Keerthi", Vikram started gruffly ,his voice laced with desire, their lips merely brushing, teasing one another, "We should go to sleep now if you don't want it to continue any further." Keerthi's face flamed at her husband's insinuation. But dammit,she wanted to be kissed. For the first time ever.

I go ice fishing with my husband, and we encounter a snowstorm and hailstorm. The mountainside villa has no sustenance and power, and he takes my down jacket to keep his former superior warm. I'm three months pregnant, and my daughter is having a high fever. However, he pushes us out of the villa to look for wild vegetables. Why? Because his former superior wants to eat them. He probably has no idea that I've come to this villa countless times to prepare his anniversary gift. Later, my daughter ends up mentally disabled from the high fever. I finally get my hands on proof of his under-the-table dealings with his former superior. I destroy him before he's promoted!

"All the beautiful memories, just turned into a beautiful nightmares." Breaking up with the guy you love the most is the hardest part of being in love. Letting go as if it’s only the choice you need to choose. Letting go even though you want to hold that person as tightly as you can just to make that person stay besides you. Sometimes, when you love someone, you want and wishes them the best and happiness, but then sometimes, what's best for them is not you — you're not part of it.
