Just then she threw up and began crying. “Mommy!” She sobbed. Jasmine opened the door and gasped as she took in what was happening. “Oh my sweet little girl, it’s okay,” she said as she pulled Lilly into her arms. “Uh Sweetie,” Lucian started to say. “Come on, let’s get both of you in the bath,” Raze said as he pulled his shirt that he was slipping on down over his chest. “She’s running a fever,” Jasmine said as she pulled her wrist off of Lilly’s forehead.

Once again, she was brought to his private house, where she was brought before. Nina was already there with a doctor per the order given to her. Aaron unbuttoned his shirt and put on her body, removing his suit. Then, she allowed the doctor to check on her. The doctor touched her forehead and said, "Fever... A high fever." The doctor could not guess, which type of fever it was, so she took a blood sample and sent it to the lab. She injected Elaina and gave some primary treatment. Aaron was striding here and there in the bedroom. The doctor left after some time.

Flat. "That's unusually minimalist of you." No response. Maya taps the pen against the page. "Novel respiratory illness. Fever, coughing, disorientation, unusual aggression. That is a lot of yes for someone with a thesaurus installed." Silence. Her stomach tightens. Not fear exactly. Fear runs hot. This is colder. I feel sorry for Nala because she hasn't eaten yet and I'm worried because of that.

Lyla’s POV I woke up with the taste of metal in my mouth. My tongue felt dry and swollen, and my skin burned, then chilled, then burned again, a fever inside me that had nothing to do with heat. My entire body was shaking as if the bed had turned into a boat and I’d been thrown into a storm. My hair stuck to my face, damp with sweat, and when I tried to sit up, my muscles refused to obey, cramping painfully instead.
