Andrew was standing in front of his unfinished glass house in the middle of a mountainous land in the Rizal Area in a misty Sunday morning of May 8, 2030. He just turned 30. He had enough of almost everything a 30 year old man could have but there he was, standing cold while thinking how he should finish the house he was building for the last five years. "Isn't it better if you just sell the place?" Richard spoke. "Why do I feel that you're giving up on something you haven’t started just yet?"

Shocked by the turbulent emotions that kept on overwhelming her, she blinked back tears and took in another steadying breath. It was only a week since she had seen Wyatt, seven days of unadulterated hell and misery. Over and over again she kept on reviewing everything that had happened and everything that Wyatt had said. He had not said much. He had not denied his guilt, which was in his favour, and he was hopeless at talking about feelings. But he hadn’t fought to keep her either, had he?

“It’s not precisely a vacation –“ “Nope!” I say, getting to my feet, carried away a little by my excitement. “We get two days,” I say, holding up two fingers to everyone in the room. “Two days before we dedicate our lives to helping the people of this world, and destroying our enemies, and running a nation. So if I get two days respite from all of the awful things that have been happening to us lately? They’re going to be the best two vacation days we’ve ever had!”

"The rest is yours to hear in August." I looked at her. "August," I said. "Seventy-something days." "Seventy-three," I said. She looked at me. "You counted," she said. "Last week sometime." I held her eyes. "It helps to know." "Does it make it feel closer or further?" "Closer." I paused. "Seventy-three is manageable." She looked at the garden around us. "Seventy-three days," she said. "And then the orchard."

Just the most powerful force in the universe. Seven days. We can survive seven days. We can survive anything. As long as we're together.
