In The Lost Lands Book Novels & Stories

I hope you are too, and would be ever so humbled if you let me know what you thought of my little part two. Being able to explore my characters through their own points of view was an eye opening experience, and I hoped you loved tuning into Dalton, Kendra, and Jake's thoughts just as much as the lead's, Hollis and Whitney's. Despite this book taking five months to write, a month less than two of my other novels, "Not All Who Wander Are Lost" is by far my longest book, nearing 600 pages. I couldn't avoid it since there was so much I wanted to cover, and there are no regrets.

Others lay pale and dead, as if the colour had been sucked out of them. This was not one wasteland. It was a whole wounded world. The thought made my chest tighten. Everything we had talked about became real from above. Kingdoms. Territories. Dead zones. Trade paths. Places no one returned from. Crowns fighting over land that could still breathe. Wraiths taking ground. Dragons ruling ruined beauty. People living somehow in between it all. My fear grew. So did my wonder. Because even broken, the Outlands was not small.

“Why?” A wry line carves itself on her face. “Children tend to vanish when they venture too far from home. I would hate for any of you to end up like the lost heirs,” she says, and I think she meant it as a joke because her dreary eyes shine with dark humour, but I also think it was a sincere warning. “The lost… heirs?” I repeat questioningly, hopefully a worthy prompt for an elucidation. A ghoulish glint sparks in Hilda’s dull eyes. “The lost heirs; twins that braved into the woods. Rumours speculate that it was to visit their favourite spot by the lake which they visited religiously, but one day… they never returned.”

And that makes them in demand not just in the country but also other countries, even other continents too. “My pretty best friend, it's pretty obvious that my younger brother is head over heels in love with you. Back then when you left, he was so devastated and desperate to find you. You’re his world… ah no.. you’re his universe so rejecting you… it’s just so impossible.” Dylan stated very seriously.

"He really did it. He really left." "Who is he?" Vrethie cried. "So much for being the worlds best psychic." Eigen cried, grinning widely as he entered the house through the window - how a gaping hole in the side of the house. "You didn't even feel me arrive." Everyone, including Miaka and Kai, took a sidestep and jumped through the hole into the windy garden. Where the monster had landed was now nothing but a bomb site - flattened to ash and dust. "Ashes to ashes - dust to dust," the moster whispered, picking up the blackened sand. It slipped through his fingers like a egg timer, counting down the minutes to the end of days.

And I was going to find it. Dorian met me at the northern border, where the rogue had last been seen. He had called for two warriors to join us—Talon and Reed, both experienced trackers. I wasn’t sure if they were here to help me or babysit me. “The last known sighting was here,” Dorian said, kneeling beside the clawed-up dirt. “But we lost the scent trail.” I scanned the area, my heart pounding. The dense forest surrounding Blood Moon’s territory stretched endlessly, and the further out we went, the more dangerous it became.

The presence continued. “No instability.” A pause. “No loss.” Luke shook his head. “That’s not true.” Silence. He stepped forward. “This world already lost something.” The presence didn’t answer immediately. Because it didn’t understand. Yet. Luke looked around. At the perfect sky. At the unbroken ground. At the empty space where she should be. “…it lost her,” he said. The structure trembled slightly. “…insignificant variable.” Luke’s voice hardened. “No.”

They all said at the same time. When he growled... I just realized what I’d said. My eyes went wide. He growled at me! He’s like ya’ll! Can that be possible? I asked in disbelief. Alpha Landon and Beta Lucas got to their feet. Yes, it’s very possible, there are thousands of packs worldwide. Beta Lucas said. Damien, you stay with your mate. Jyden, Koltyn, you two, come with us, we need to find this Luther. He ordered.

A year since that day I ran away from home and decided to die on an island. I had the perfect idea of the perfect death. It was not unsuccessful. In fact, the lost soul, Brieanna died and is still submerged down the ocean floor. I never retrieved my backpack, it's my grave.

Eyes still closed. Legs trembling. Then he just took one book from the shelves. “Here,” he said, stretching his arm out. “Take a look at this book.” I quickly snapped out of the moment. It was as if I had just woken up from a very interesting dream. He looked at me with a tiny, knowing smile—one that almost mocked me. It was the first time he had smiled genuinely at me. “This book—Lost in the Ruins of His Heart—it’s a really deep love story,” he said with a tone that carried a strange joy. “It follows the journey of a girl searching for her identity.”
