"Go, please, just go," I gasped, my voice cracking with panic as I kept my eyes glued to the rearview window, half-expecting the brothers' black SUVs to tear around the corner. The driver, an older man with a calm, unbothered expression, caught my eye in the mirror. He didn't ask questions—he just shifted into drive. The cab surged forward, smoothly merging into the quiet nighttime traffic.
