Luna Redemption
A sharp, violent sting hit the back of my sinuses.
My wolf senses flared instantly. Hot steam curled off the spoon, carrying the savory scent of roasted chicken, thyme, and garlic. But underneath the herbs, something completely unnatural lurked. It smelled bitter. Acrid. A highly concentrated, chemical burn reminiscent of old batteries and pure, raw ozone.
Silver.
"Drop it!"
Reacting before my brain even processed the word, my hand shot forward. I slapped the spoon directly out of her fingers.
The silver utensil launched across the bedroom. It slammed into the dry wall, sending a spray of hot broth across the expensive wallpaper. The spoon clattered loudly to the hardwood floor.
