“Intimately.”
Harper clicked her tongue. “Semantics.”
I turned on Harper again, fury detonating. “You planned this.”
She shrugged. “I missed you.”
India let out a soft, broken laugh.
That sound hurt more than shouting ever could.
“An ex-fiancé,” India said slowly, like she was tasting poison. “My cousin is your ex-fiancé.”
I swallowed hard.
“Yes.”
Silence crashed down.
India’s chest rose and fell unevenly. “You told me about your mother. About Rory. About the war, the blood, the bodies. You stripped yourself bare with me.”
