Pregnant After My Triplets Mate Rejected Me

It takes thirty-five minutes to reach the ridge.
I arrive breathing hard, legs burning slightly in the good way, the way that means I have been asking something real from my body. The sky is going from black to deep grey at the horizon, the first suggestion of dawn not yet light but the absence of dark. Below me, Silverveil spreads out in the early quiet, the pack buildings, the clinic, the main road, the residential paths. And there, east of the main residential area, the cottage.
I can see Fort Landon from here. Just barely... a darker shape in the yard, the lookout crate a small protrusion at the corner. The rope bridge. The roof panel that went on three weeks ago.
