“There has not been any earth tremor for days now, has Ryder completed the sacrifice?” General Mavrek asked Iris as she crashed into a chair in his tent, gulping down cup after cup of water. A day’s journey in the cold and snow-covered land had nothing on her, as her body could withstand some levels of extreme temperatures, but her body could not go on without water. She had not thought of that really.

"And make sure there's nothing left." Ironhead nodded "With pleasure." I made my way back upstairs ignoring everyone as they stared at me I knew I had blood all over me but I didn't give a fuck I pushed open his office door without knocking, stepping inside. "I got something," I said, cutting straight to the point. "There's a shipment coming in tonight at the old docks. Guns, drugs—big haul." The prez's eyes narrowed "Good work. We'll be ready hopefully we could end this motherfucker quick and my sister will be safe."

I'm following my team to Isle 416, and I want you to wait for me to come home, okay?" Ridge spoke to the girl before he left home. She nodded and saw him off. "Don't worry, I'll be right here waiting for you, no matter how long it takes. But promise me that you'll come home safe." "I promise." "V-Vicky…?" Ridge murmured, hallucinating that the girl was standing before him.

Luke questions and I glance beside him to see Emerald's gaze on me too. "Nothing," I laugh dryly. "I saw nothing." "Talk about the devil himself." Jackson mumbles, looking at a figure behind. And immediately I could smell him. He stands beside my seated form. He sends a nod to Luke and Jackson before looking down at me. "Hey." His deep voice grunts out to me. I ignore him, picking at my long forgotten sandwich. "Iris." He calls out to me, my face warming at the attention on us. I grab my backpack before grabbing his hand and muttering a "goodbye." to the guys.

I whimpered immediately at the extra pain that tore through me before I was left panting while wondering why Logan hasn’t returned to me yet. A sob tore from my chest as more sunlight start to flood into the room. Just when I thought it was all over for me, the door to the dome finally open again and he rushed towards me with his large blade in hand. “I’m sorry, Iris. The spares are also gone so we will have to free you the hard way so hold still for me okay?” he said and I nodded before holding my breath as he raised his blade midway before letting it slammed back at the shackles around my wrist, freeing me.

The manor was white with big floor to ceiling glass windows, it looked celestial under the moonlight. I have been in WillowRidge for my whole life, but I never knew about this manor, no one could see this from the road, it is so well hidden. What a wonder. The assistant opened my door and took me to the side of the manor through a garden of colourful flowerbeds that looked so beautiful even at night. We crossed a beautiful wooden door to a private sitting area, a place so beautiful, elegant flowers, fairy lights, a cabin made of glass walls and ceilings, I am not joking. Where her first unstable surge had nearly fractured the northern node months ago. Where the lattice had first reacted violently to bond integration. It wasn’t random. It was choosing historical stress points. They moved fast. The forest seemed to lean inward as they approached the ridge — trees vibrating faintly with structural tension. Then they saw it.
