Now Stephen would be more relaxed knowing that I can't see clearly, and by the way I talked, you could easily identify how tired I was. He went over to his desk, or whatever he called it, and studied a book Intently. A few minutes into the book, I wished he could drift into a deep sleep, and surprisingly, he did. I don't know if I was the one that helped him out or if he naturally fell asleep at that moment, making it a weird coincidence. It was an opportunity for me to escape.Maybe it was my words that made him fall asleep. I tried telling my hands to slip out of the handcuffs or for the handcuffs to open, but for the next sixty seconds, nothing happened.

It was a rule written in stone. But last night... after the way she had yielded to me on the bike, taking every inch of me while the wind whipped around us, I had broken my own protocol. I hadn't carried her to the guest room. I'd let her collapse right here. And then, the impossible happened. I slept. For ten years, insomnia has been my most faithful companion. I usually survived on two, maybe three hours of fitful rest, plagued by nightmares of blood and fire. But last night?

The food tasted good, and I complemented the chef. I freshened up, picked up one of my books and started to read, and within minutes, I fell asleep. *** months later, Mateo rolled over onto his back with a long sigh. He woke to find Isabella’s hot young body snuggled up close to him in his bed. Christ, he’d only been able to keep her out of it for a week. Then nightmares set in. Something was under her bed. Noises came from her closet. She’d thought she saw eyes peering at her out of her window, and finally insomnia set in when she couldn’t fall asleep in his arms. The last excuse he tried putting his foot down and demand she drink warm milk to help her along, but when Isabella started being late for school and finally missing school because of lack of sleep, Mateo caved.

With every single passing day, the deep suspicion in her sharp voice was growing stronger and more obvious. I tried my absolute best to act completely normal and clear of guilt. I woke up and went to my regular shifts at the local café just like I always did. I forced a polite smile onto my face whenever Victoria spoke to me in the hallways. But inside my chest, my heart was beating at a frantic, terrifying pace all the time. To make matters worse, Stephen was finding it harder and harder to control his own dark impulses. 3rd Person POV Isaac let Stephanie curl up to him the rest of the night after her nightmare startled her awake. And to her pleasure, she slept the rest of the night without any bad dreams of Dominic or anyone trying to hurt her baby. “Do you want to talk about it?” Isaac asked after they woke up and were facing each other on the bed. Stephanie inhaled deeply and answered him, “I think… I think I know what to do now because of the dream.”

I was having quite the dream when I jerked awake to the feeling that someone had been watching me, someone had been in my room. Kingston’s door is closed but not locked. I creep inside quietly, shutting the door gently when I see him fast asleep on what is normally my side of the bed. I move towards him without thinking, stalking the bed like a moth drawn to a flame.
