"We are here." I pushed through the glass and stopped dead. My jaw dropped. Warm light from giant crystal chandeliers spilled over shiny black and white floor tiles. Carved wooden stairs twisted up four separate floors, packed tight with books. Even as someone who hated reading, I felt my chest swell at the massive sight. Wolves scattered around the room. Some flipped pages, others whispered stories to pups. Vesper led me to a plain wooden door at the back. Luna Runa stood beside a heavy metal box on the wall.

This was the most content I've been in my entire life. "Twin gifts" I whispered to the books as I walked threw to the back and found more tables and behind them were more vertical rows of book cases under the balcony. After the first set of shelves it was pitch black and I wondered what how much further these shelves really went. I walked over to them and seen all the books were dark green and made out of a soft scale material I ran my fingers over them and felt each bump. Just as my curiosity was bout to walk me into the darkness a large red book came dancing into my vision startling me, I took a few steps back letting it pass me. I watched as it floated slowly slightly bouncing in the air.

" Her voice rose, shaking everything in the palace. She was against those who despised Karen. "See what?" "I only see ashes and dark smoke, nothing else." She chuckled, beaming. Her shoulders were raised high and her chin held high as if she were a fighter going to war. People closed their eyes as the invisible figure raised the shimmering walking stick she was carrying. When they opened their eyes, they found everything back in place. It was like nothing had taken place. The Alpha's office was still standing there, untouched. They could see tables, chairs, and the long shelves on which were stored the stacks of files and papers. They were all dustless and had no soot.

“Let us go to the restricted section. All sorts of unusual books are stored there.” I said and began pushing Xenos’ chair through the rows of shelves until we reached the last row of shelves. “Here it is” I said excitedly. I was beginning to feel hopeful that I now had a way to break the curse and that I had so many people around me to help. I was not alone. However, my happiness was short lived. Xenos did not get up from his chair. He only stared at the shelf intently and muttered, “The book is not here”

- • Alyssa's POV As I entered the room, I was immediately struck by the beautiful sight before me. The paintings on the wall seemed to blink at me, as if greeting me. The room was painted white with stunning murals hand-painted on the burnt orange and red walls. The furniture was rustic and dark, complemented by vibrant cushions. I had never seen a room with so much furniture and so many hues. The white velvet curtains hid the long windows across the room, leaving only a shy peek. The floor was polished wood, dark and free of clutter. The room looked amazing; it was designed not just to be a room, but to feel like home. I could stay here forever.

The boardroom of the universe was not a room at all. As Jack, Katherine, Marcus, and Ben stepped through the massive obsidian doors, they found themselves standing on a circular platform of polished black marble suspended in an infinite expanse of swirling, violent nebulas. There was no ceiling, only the blinding white boundary of the universe's edge. Orbiting the edge of the platform, functioning as grotesque desk ornaments, were actual, living planets trapped in stasis fields.
