Why? Hope rose in my chest as the possibility of him letting me go crossed my mind. "Hi!" I greeted him a little too chirpy, a wide smile flashing on my lips. "Come here," he said, opening his arms, and my eyes widened at his request. What was that for? I swallowed hard and looked at him, but I refused to move from my position. "Come, just a hug." His eyes softened, his arms were still wide open. I finally gave up and walked towards him, sitting on his side of the bed. His arms wrapped around me almost immediately as he pulled me into his chest.

In my mind, he was nothing more than a contemptible dickhead. Yet in this very moment, it defies that thought. The warmth of Justin's embrace enveloped me, a comforting shield against the uncertainties of the world. In his strong arms, I found solace and reassurance—a tangible reminder that I was protected and cherished. The way he held me close spoke volumes, whispering secrets of security and safety that only our hearts could understand. As Justin's arms envelop me, a strange sensation stirs within. It's as if an invisible force within me yearns to forge a deeper connection with him.

So I slapped a large smile on my lips, taking his arms. “Of course.”

“This is really happening.” “It is.” “I’m scared.” “I know.” “But I’m ready.” I pull her into my arms. “That’s my girl.”

Her arm wrapped through his as she pushes herself against him. Something inside of me breaks. “Fuck yeah.”

As those words came out from his mouth, my heart melted, and I wrapped my arms around him, holding him tight. “Are you hungry?” I asked. He nodded against my shoulder, and I smiled softly before taking him inside.

And he was safe in my arms. To be continued...

I don’t know where I’ll go after this or how I’ll survive, but I will manage. The bubble of joy pops when an arm clamps around my midsection and drags me into the solid rock of a body. I don’t need to look to know it’s him. I let out a whimper of defeat and try to shove his arm away. He only adds his other one, squeezing me tighter in his grasp.

His arms instantly snaked around me. “Hey, it’s alright. I am here.” He whispered and pasted me on his chest. I hated to admit this but the warmth and protection I felt in his arms, it was unexplainable. My own hands wrapped around his waist involuntarily.

I sighed, wrapping my arms around his neck and hugging him tightly. “I thought I was going to lose you.” I whispered, burying my face into the crook of his neck. He was frozen in my arms but slowly thawed. His arms finally wrapped me in his embrace. “I thought he was going to kill you. I could… I couldn’t let him take you from me. I won’t let anyone take you from me.” he whispered, burying his face into my shoulder as we held each other.
