I smiled as a blush ran over his face. “I’m sorry. That was rude of me to stare.” I chuckled. “Not really. I know to humans it looks a little distorted because of the magic holding it together.” Reaching across the table, I held it out for him. He looked from me to my arm before slowly reaching out and touching it. “I can’t feel anything. It’s just magic that connects to the muscles in my arms which allows me full mobility just as my arm would.”

“Please…” My legs give out. I don’t realize I’m falling until Zayn’s arms are suddenly around me, firm—as though he’s been waiting for me to collapse, just to catch me before I hit the floor. One hand braces my back, the other steadying my waist. I feel how easily he holds me. How small and fragile I must be in his arms.

He wants me to do some more arm workouts but I can't. "Please don't make me use my arms please. I can hardly lift them." He laughs at that. "I think that you need more practice if this is all you can give me." He grins "Oh yeah, how about this." I go and play punch him. He laughs and starts trying to get me, he is holding back though not wanting to hurt me. He throws a light punch to my side and it still slightly hurt but I didn't let on. I go to throw a punch to his head but he blocks it, I go to throw another punch at him but he grabs my arm and spins me around so that he is holding me from behind.

Just as everything begins to fade, a strong arm wraps around me, keeping me from collapsing completely. Everything feels distant as I try to hold on, my breath hitching in my throat. I fight to keep my eyes open, but the world around me spins, making it impossible to focus. I know I’m losing the battle with consciousness, but the firm grip on me is the only thing keeping me. As I start to slip, that arm pulls me closer, supporting my weight and stopping me from hitting the ground. Even though everything is hazy, I can sense the concern in the way I’m being held, and it’s the last thing I’m aware of before the darkness takes over.

It was a firm hold. A single, long sigh. Instability in the knees. Those with apprehensive or doubtful hearts. As I held Oswin's arm tightly with my left hand, I felt a surge of warmth go through my body and into my arm. In a flash, that force went down the man's arms and into his veins, where it would remain like a tree's trunk. It included Myra, who was holding onto Oswin's left hand, and Chase, who was standing behind him.

Douglas held me tighter as we rushed to Ross's side. He had been stabbed by Laurel, then hit by the car. Blood was everywhere. Ross couldn't speak. His eyes were filled with affection as he looked at me. He tried to reach for me, but his hand fell limply. I didn't know what to do. I called his name, and Douglas began performing first aid, having learned some basic emergency skills during his travels.

"Here." I stare at his bare palm, shuddering. "Uh, I'll just hold your arm." He doesn’t question it, allowing me to grab the sleeve of his shirt, as the world begins to dissolves around us.

Then, I stopped short at the sight ahead. In the distance, Louisa was holding Ewan's hand and waving at me. My fingers locked tight around the door handle; my whole body tensed. I shut my eyes, took a deep breath, and hurried over. Louisa's head was tilted up, and she was talking to Ewan. As I approached, her voice grew clearer. "I'm not afraid of pain. I'll be like Mommy. Mommy had a huge monster on her face that she had to fight, and she won. I'll definitely beat the demon inside my body."

“I’m always here for you.” He slid his arms under me and lifted me off the ground as if I weighed nothing. My arms clung to his neck instinctively. He held me tight.

He picked my hand that he held against the wall, and twisted it also behind my back, holding both my hands in one of his… Realizing that I had been completely incapacitated by him, I struggled even more, fighting like my life depended on it. “Ugh… ah, let go.” I groaned and then a sound came from my shoulders—a pop sound and I stilled. “Now, hold still or you will break your arm.” he said softly against my neck before pressing a kiss there. He wasn’t concerned if my arms break or not, he has made it known that he is unwilling to let go of me.
