The sound of laughter and music wafted through the air, a stark contrast to the tension coiled in my chest. It was the smell that hit me first—earthy and wild, a scent that didn't belong in the city's concrete jungle. I froze, my breath catching in my throat. From the shadows, a figure emerged, a huge wolf, its eyes gleaming with a predatory light. It took a step toward me, then paused, before turning away.

She ignored me, her excitement pushing her faster as she ran deeper into the woods. Then, everything stopped. A loud thud. Vivi had crashed into a tree, and we both felt the sharp pain that jolted through her. She stumbled, dazed, but quickly shook it off and was ready to run again. But she froze. In front of her stood a huge brown wolf, its eyes burning with fury. It growled deeply, the sound echoing like thunder through the forest. Vivi’s confidence crumbled. I could feel her fear, as if it were my own. She didn’t dare move, her body stiff and trembling under the intensity of the wolf’s furious gaze.

The animal regarded her with curiosity, and then turned and disappeared into the woods. Zoe watched the wolf disappear into the darkness, feeling a strange sense of connection to the animal. She knew that she had just witnessed something extraordinary, and she couldn't wait to explore the forest even further. Zoe's heart raced as she tried to follow the black wolf through the dense forest. She had never felt such a strong pull to anything before, and it was exhilarating. Every time she thought she had lost the animal, she would catch a glimpse of it again, teasing her with its presence.

Not before hearing Mel yell out "that's a very stupid idea!" I shook my head, not listening to them and continued my journey deeper into the woods. There was a beautiful lake. I sat there, while exploring with my eyes. It was beautiful. Just as I began to relax, I heard a twig snap. That's never a good thing to hear by yourself when you are all alone. I began to look around for where the sound was coming from, and lo and behold, there stood a very big wolf. His scent was extremely disgusting, like rotten fish. I knew right there he was a rogue. I whimpered.

Gradually with every word that he spoke, Nicole was beginning to regain her consciousness but just then a day tipped over one of the stainless steel objects there that made such a loud sound. The sound broke Nicole’s concentration within her body and triggered the wolf even more, they hated loud sound or bright light. The she wolf was pissed now and broke the second restraint almost immediately. Then the rampage begun, she went towards Henry and growled really loudly like she was about to attack him but she was slightly able to recognize him, she tossed him aside and then Nicole turned and rammed her way through the door of the basement.

I believe that time is now. "Can you tell me about that dream? You know, the one you had about the werewolf?" I slowly asks. He gasps, spooked. Gulps and shivers, stuttering quietly. "O.. okay. I was in a forest. I think.. There were lots of trees everywhere. It was nighttime. And suddenly I hear a long, deep howl. It was scary. Then this real big, black & silver wolf walks over to me. Out of the trees." He gestures with his arms wide, how big the wolf was. Then he huddles close to me. Looks around wide-eyed and cautious. He whispers, shocked.

Not fireworks—more like gravity tilting, pulling me his way. After school, the woods call to me. Maya heads home—panic attack brewing, mumbling apologies through wet lashes. I promise to bring snacks and movies later. But right now, the trees are whispering. My sneakers crunch through pine needles, wind tugging at my hair. The forest smells like rain on dirt—danger and hope woven together. Come. My wolf’s voice is clearer than ever. Come to me. "I’m coming, jeez," I mutter. She huffs, all queenly annoyance.

I imagined the side door of my house in my head. Unlike in the cabin, where I had pictured throwing it wide open, this time I opened the door slowly. 'Please come forward. Please. Please. Please wolf. Please introduce yourself to our Luna and Alpha.' I begged my wolf. I didn't want to disappoint my parents. I didn't want to embarrass our pack.

"The Silver Crescent patrols will be here soon. They'll kill you if they find you." ​The wolf held her gaze for one more long, agonizing second. Then, with a sudden, graceful turn, it leaped over the ravine, its powerful legs carrying it into the dense fog of the Whispering Woods. Within moments, it was gone, leaving nothing behind but the shattered iron trap and the scent of ash and cedarwood.

I walked away with a smile on my face, perhaps even a small giggle. I walked through the dark forest. It was about the crack of the sunset and I was alone in the woods. I looked around, fear in my eyes and tried to think positive. I heard a twig crack and I jumped a bit. “Leave me alone.” I said quietly. Then I heard a rustle in the bush. My eyes watered up, because I knew this might be the end. There was a shadow I saw in the ground. It looked like there was a monster behind me. I fell to my knees and started sobbing.
