Elena said. "Don't worry about me, just get the book." I said. She took the book and as soon as she had the book in her hands an inferno of fire covered Elena in a circle. "Turaste Teralado Infermina Tutulo." I said and the fire went out. "That was great, now let's go before the next element hits." Elena said. She didn't have to tell me twice. "Give me your hand." I said and she did as she was told.

The fire and heat bursts out of me like a shockwave only being directed towards the dark fae. They all burst into flames and fall. My family and friends are unaffected. I open my mouth and molten lava spews out. Cascading down my bare chest. The burn is delicious, it’s intoxicating. I levitate into the air as the molten lava flows from my mouth. My skin bursting into flames. I don’t fight it; I let it run free. My heart beat picks up again, and I know Vilkas is fighting.

Xalvy had her hand on my shoulder and she squeezed it softly as she spoke. Even then, I was reluctant to show her what I was becoming. To make matters worse, I didn't know how to put the flames surrounding my hands out. "Kalama, listen to me, if you were evil, you wouldn't have inherited the Fire Element." Finn's voice sounded very close. My curiosity was winning from my fear. " And you wouldn't have been chosen to be the fif,-" Finn stopped mid-sentence when I lifted my head and looked at him.

A gasp of shock escaped me as the flames retracted and I could have a better look at the Bloody General. ** You can read Alev's book (The Golden Dragon's Surrogate) for f.ree on Kindl.e unlimited. For more information, join my group: T. R. Durant's Realm of Light and Fire

"Don't come in, Serena! This place is about to blow! You guys need to run!" Raiden was still heading out with Celia in his arms, but he paused when he heard my words. He looked back in disbelief at me. All warmth left his eyes, as though he were looking at a stranger. "How am I now realizing you're so sly, Winifred? "The firefighters will be here and can control the flames in half an hour! What will our colleagues think of me now that you're saying this place will blow up? Can't you be a little more considerate like Celia?"

Taking a sip of water from the cup on the table and sitting it back down after swallowing I continued “I also find it hurtful to know that my best friends the ones that’s closest to me not only didn’t believe that I couldn’t handle to job and all it comes with especially since this isn’t my first time working in a damn firehouse but also thought that I couldn’t protect myself like I was a damsel in distress or something. I want you both to get this through your heads when I tell you this. You can’t keep me from danger, danger is everywhere this isn’t my first day on this damn earth. That is not Danny’s job or anyone else’s job to protect me or keep me from danger or any of the sorts. Danny d

Hell never stayed the same long enough to get bored. Which was good. Kaelith hated being bored. The ground beneath him cracked open again with a loud, satisfying snap, spilling molten fire upward like it had something to prove. A creature with too many limbs crawled out of it, shrieking like it had just discovered existence and already regretted it. Kaelith glanced at it. “Yeah, same,” he muttered. The creature lunged at him. He did not move at first. He let it get close. Very close. Close enough that it thought it had a chance.

Pelin’s POV The phone slid from my numb fingers, landing on the leather seat of the Karga’s white Toyota with a dull thud. The words Kayhan had just spoken were still vibrating in the air, making my heart sink. Ifrit fire. I knew that name. I had seen it in the margins of forbidden texts, written in ink that looked like dried blood. It wasn’t just a normal fire, more like ancient Greek fire, almost impossible to extinguish. A sob escaped my throat, raw and uncontrollable, and suddenly I couldn’t breathe.

and higher. “HE WILL NEVER GET WHAT’S MINE!” I screamed, allowing the flames to become visible before our eyes. The fire swallowed the room in a fierce grasp. “MS.KWON!” Cameron yelled, before coughing. His eyes widened at the sight before him. A fire that mysteriously started. He gasped, suddenly meeting his eyes with mine, a look of fear and acknowledgement crossed his eyes, before an unshed emotion took over them. The flames had given me their sight and I gasped looking down at my hands. Flames caressed my hands, giving me full power of the element. The fire in my hands rose, powerfully burning, and yet, no harm came to me.
