I groaned in pain, tired of falling all the time and hurting myself. “Are you alright?” Irene grabbed my arms and helped me up. “Where are we?” Klara asked as she dusted herself off. She must have fallen to. “Welcome to my home.” Irene smiled as she gestured toward a big white mansion. Wow, it was beautiful. The mansion hovered proudly behind a big blue Iron gate which opened with a wave of her hand. “Come on in.” Irene entered first and we followed her inside. As we entered we were confronted by a beautiful garden. Short trimmed grass, rectangular beds of flowers, aromatic leaves, and the air, it was scented by the sweet fragrance of several flowers.

The iron gates of the Thorne estate open, they retreat, sliding back like the teeth of a giant trap. I grip the steering wheel of my sedan, my knuckles white against the black leather. Everything about this place is designed to make a person feel small. The drive up to the main house is lined with ancient oaks that block out the afternoon sun, casting the world into a permanent, expensive shadow.

Besides, with the power out, how's a welder supposed to work? "Enough nonsense. Tell us what the villa's like inside." Rudy shook his head. "That guy is insanely cautious. He didn't let me in at all. But I checked the thickness of that iron door—at least eight inches thick, electrically controlled. Even pushing it open would take serious effort. Welding it open, even if there were power, is completely unrealistic." Everyone sucked in a breath. An eight-inch-thick iron door?! That was the thickness of military defense bunker doors. Did he turn his house into a bomb shelter?

Chapter Three The massive iron gates of the Iron Reapers compound rolled open slowly. They made a loud, heavy, metallic groan that echoed in the quiet night air. The moment we drove through them, my stomach dropped completely. It felt like my insides were falling. Bright, harsh floodlights lit up the entire area. The massive parking lot looked almost like a secure prison yard. There were long, neat rows of shiny chrome motorcycles gleaming perfectly under the bright lights. I could see a few smaller wooden buildings scattered around the property, and right in the middle stood one huge, two-story house. It was the main clubhouse. It looked incredibly strong, built out of thick wood and heavy

Even so, it seemed familiar… somehow. I was standing in front of the main gate to the whimsical property, which was solid silver. I could see a large infinity symbol standing diagonally, covered in vines and filigree running down the middle of the gate. I could see the separation in the symbol where the gate would open, splitting it into 2 pieces, one on each side as you walked through.

The living room was a giant room, with a beautiful dark gray brick fireplace, with sliver metal doors. I walked around the corner to the kitchen. I got excited, because it was also a giant room. There was a 6 burner stove-top, an oven and microwave combo built into the kitchen wall, a stainless steel double sink, and black and white tile floor. There was a sliding glass door that led out into an incredible sight. We had an in-ground pool, that went as deep as 8 feet! There was a beautiful deck built around it. At the very back of the yard, there was a little house. I went out the sliding glass doors, and walked around the deck to investigate. I smiled as I saw my reflection in the pool water

‘I’m fine. I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes. When Lochlan got drunk, he didn’t get rowdy or sentimental. He apparently regressed to a wilful, cryptic child. I followed the sat-nav’s polite instructions until we turned onto a private, tree-lined road. It led to a pair of imposing white gates set into a high perimeter wall. As we approached, a discreet camera swivelled, a light blinked green, and the gates swung open silently. I drove through. The house was a vast, stunning structure of glass and delicate black ironwork, nestled in immaculate, minimalist gardens.

Because of that, our drives were smoother compared to the previous district. At the end of the District, I can see the perimeters of Duke mansions. The whole area was barricaded with a fancy-designed 3meter high iron fence. As the gatekeepers saw us, they opened the iron gates and let us inside. The inside was definitely high class, the road was paved with stoned blocks, and a beautiful green garden was on each side of the road. The mansion itself was amazing, it looks like a High end old English-era-style mansion, it was 3 floors high made with 300 meters long, it was Extravagant, definitely showing one of high status.

"I bought a house here. Want to check it out?" "Sure," Irene replied right away. Isaac told her simply. "It's bigger than the hilltop mansion in Zidonia. I gave a general idea, and a design company did the rest." Irene did appreciate Isaac's tastes, and thought then that it would not be that bad—she actually became expectant too. It was a forty-minute trip, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. Everything from the people to the architecture were a completely different world. When they arrived Irene alighted, and the first thing she saw was the garden that spanned over 20,000 square feet. There was even a mini golf course, and it would take a while to cover the entire area.

Two wings stretched out from the central portion, creating a balanced, almost symmetrical design that felt deliberate and powerful. At the front, a large wrought-iron gate stood closed, its intricate patterns both beautiful and unyielding. Beyond it, a neat driveway led through a lush garden dotted with palm trees and bursts of red flowers climbing over the walls. The whole scene felt like something out of a dream—or a world most people could only imagine stepping into. It wasn’t just a house; it was a statement, a place that made you stop and wonder about the people who lived there and the lives they led.
