Waiting to be freed from the frozen bastille where it was caged. Mom used to tell me, it's hard to forget true love. It can be buried by time but it will take so long to forget it. In her case, she never did. Even decades later he has not been able to turn to others. I put in my mind that, that kind of love is a legend. Rare but very heart felt. Though at the same time, my vision of love was tainted on what I observed in my generation. It is a miracle to see pure love. Something as that can't be pure. That’s what I imprinted in my mind as a kid so I couldn’t believe in fairytales.

So how was I supposed to forget him now? Now that our love had left something behind. Now that I was carrying within me a living reminder of everything we once shared together. That wrecked him. He limped toward me, reaching for my hand. I stepped back like it was nothing. "Mister, keep this up and I'm calling the cops." His eyes were wild, voice cracking as he yelled, "I don't believe you forgot me! Rhea, you said forever! I only forgot you because of that temporary amnesia—but I remember now! I know you're the one I love!" I laughed. Hard. What a clown. Acting like some tragic lover. Would he have "remembered" so fast if I hadn't walked away for good? Doubt it. He'd still be playing house with Juliet and her stupid little props.

The drink slipped from my hand, shattering on the floor. The illusion yesterday__ the little girl on the court__ wasn't an illusion at all. It was a memory. A memory I didn't know I still had.
