Jesse said, smiling. Oh shit, I still didn’t know what had happened to them last night. How they were hurt. Dustin had briefly told me about his witch war, but didn’t go into much detail. I had no idea what all that meant. I supposed it was a conversation for another day. I opened my mouth to ask about what happened about we left Javier’s when Marissa blew into the room. “So I was just on the phone with Ryan. Peep this! Javier … is dead. Dustin apparently shot at him as you started to fall off the cliff, got him in the chest,” Marissa said, beaming.

“If only it had happened sooner.” Flynn took a deep breath and asked the hardest question. “According to one article, you testified that it wasn’t the fire that killed them. What did you witness?” Henry didn’t look at him and Flynn knew it was going to be hard to hear the truth. “...I heard them die,” Henry said eventually. Something flashed through Flynn’s mind and he grasped at it and remembered a fragment of a memory. “...I was standing next to you?” Henry nodded grimly. “You were there with me when it happened.”

A third cup lay on its side, coffee splattered over the table, and drizzling to the floor. I gasped as I watched the stream of coffee. A man in a black uniform lay sprawled on the tile, blood pooling around him. He was most definitely dead with his eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling. Holy hell! He was a guard here. His badge read Jon Sanders. I couldn't look at him any longer. He was dead. I couldn't imagine Thomas or Derek doing something like that, but that meant the maniac squad was definitely up here. Shit.

Edward Michel Tiernen knew that well. After unfastening his sheath, he pulled out his sword and carefully put the sheath on the stone ground. He was so desperate and afraid that I felt disgusted. To kill this would be tantamount to clearing dung with a sword. Still, someone had to do it. And that dung would be cleared by me. The fatty didn’t attack first. I stepped forward, slowly, warily. “Remember, Alex. Cowardly beasts have the most dangerous venom.” If not for Henry, I would have missed his lightning-fast double attack. With his right hand, he lunged at me with a sword, and with his left, he simply tried to graze me—just a little bit, just a graze...

“Now get in, darling.” I hesitate. Then, I slide into the seat. “My husband will probably kill you for this.” “I’ll love to see him try.” He walks around, running his hand through his hair and settling into the driver’s seat beside me. “You might be Mrs Carter now,” he says with a smirk. “But a bigger part of you will always belong to me. You can keep fighting but you should know, desire never lies.” He glances my way. “This is just day one.”

*Third Person's POV* "It's been over two months since Henry was reported dead, and according to the news that came out, it was the men that were working for him that plotted against him and killed him, and afterwards they ran away with all the money he was keeping with him since he couldn't go to the bank to deposit or withdraw money because he was declared wanted.

She took the paper with trembling hands, her eyes scanning Queenie's name and the time of death written in stark black and white. Her face went deathly pale, and she stumbled back. The death certificate slipped from her hands and fell to the ground. "No… No, it's impossible. Queenie can't be dead. How could she be dead? Xavier, what kind of nanny did you hire to watch her?"

As soon as his luggage was tucked in, the driver ignited the engine and drove away. It's been more than a year since he last saw Lyon, and Linda, his adopted Mom. Dylan brought out his phone to check out the news. Mr Henry's death was the talk of every damn news station at the moment, and although this was a hard time for him, he had to get everything done as soon as possible so he could leave.

Alyssa had made her move. She’d bombed one of the Colbert safe houses across town. Six men were dead. And the war had officially begun. I walked into Jillian’s office just as he threw a glass against the wall. It shattered loudly, the shards spraying across the floor. He turned toward me, rage in every inch of him. “She killed them,” he hissed. “And she smiled while doing it.” “What do we do?” “We retaliate.” His voice was hard. Unforgiving. But his eyes softened when he looked at me.

In fact, just the thought alone was enough to have my blood boiling hot as my fists clenched automatically at my sides. “You better do it right! At least you have something to munch on while you wait, as for me… I have nothing.” Henry spat angrily, his tone still calm as ever. “I so regret killing off that bastard that night! I should’ve waited, just a little bit! But at least… I have his recorded screams to play at night, that is a consolation” “Hmm,” I hummed in agreement, already imaging just how much damage that bastard Drake could have gotten to his body before been sent off to hell on that new year’s night.
