Tristan had appeared at some point and wrapped his arms around her from behind. "What's wrong, Laney?"
"They're telling me that Maxwell is dead and has been sent for cremation. Isn't that ridiculous?"
There was a hint of unease beneath Delaney's mocking tone, and Tristan's eyes flashed with resentment, but his tone remained gentle. "Max is probably just angry and je
