She had known about Cassandra, but to see her so openly, to feel the coldness in her gaze, was unsettling.
“I apologize for that,” Damian said, his voice softer now. “It won’t happen again.”
Isabelle finally looked up, meeting his gaze. “It’s fine, Damian. She… she was right about one thing.”
He furrowed his brow. “What do you mean?”
“I am easily impressed,” she said, a small, genuine smile gracing her lips. “A business trip to Cebu? On a private jet? It’s a lot to take in.”
A ghost of a smile, so rare it was almost a myth, touched Damian’s own lips. “Ms. Romero will send you all the necessary information. We leave tomorrow morning at 7 AM. Be ready.”
