I watched as they touched their true Luna’s face. “Please, let me heal them first,” Isabella said in such a sweet and soft manner. “Will you heal them?” one of the she-wolves asked, pointing at her mate and teenage son locked in the glass chamber. “Yes, love. I’ll make them healthy again. Nothing bad will happen to them.” Isabella smiled at Alpha Dominic. He stared at my face when I looked at him, but I shifted my gaze to Isabella again. She walked with elegance and took out a glass bottle filled with pink liquid. Then she stood outside the entrance to the glass chamber and looked at Beta Alexander with a smile. “Open it, Alexander,” she said.

Meanwhile, Isabella organized the information she had written in her notebook. Since she had recorded Tyler's condition five years ago, analyzing and summarizing his medical history was not too difficult for her.

Finding Isabella's room was not difficult, being that one of Martino's men was waiting outside for us. The man led us down winding hallways of white paint. He led us through a secluded area that led to the VIP ward. With each step, we took towards Isabella, my heartbeat became louder in my ears until it was the only thing that I could hear. The man stopped in front of a door and grabbed the handle to slide it open. Once I reached the doorway, I stopped. The room was fairly large and similar to the one she had stayed in before. On the bed was her form. She had a tube down her throat and multiple wires sticking out of her arm and chest.

"She's okay…she's okay…" My knees gave out. I collapsed against the floor, vision blurring. "Xavier!" she screamed. "I’m fine… just… get her out…" Then darkness. ************************* I woke to silence. Then the beeping. The sterile, cold sting of antiseptic. My ribs ached. My shoulder burned. My side pulsed with pain. Perfect. I blinked. Isabella was there. Her face buried in her palms. Her body shook with silent sobs. When she looked up, her eyes were swollen, red. The guilt in them soaked through the white light like shadows.

This was information Isabella had definitely not shared when she explained her relationship with Max's children and this was information that I wasn't privy to, from my surveillance on her during the years. "I was their wet nurse," Isabella explained quickly, her embarrassment obvious on her face. "Cassandra didn't want to breastfeed them, and I had just... my own baby had died in the accident. My milk hadn't dried up yet, and they were so tiny, so hungry..."

"Can I move in with you for a while?" She protested at first, insisting I wasn't strong enough to leave, but when she saw my face, she nodded. “You can stay with me. As long as you need.” She helped me dress and supported me as we slowly made our way down the corridor toward discharge. That was when we passed Isla’s room. The door was open. “I just want Tamsin to take care of me,” Isla said tearfully. “The doctors say it is high risk, but I trust her. She loves you so much, James. I know without a doubt that she will make sure nothing happens to our baby.”

Logan advised. Isabella’s POV I slowly made my way back to my room. I mean inch by inch, as the stitches on my stomach are throbbing. I tell myself it was worth it to see Zander, but right now I’m suffering. “Nurse, she needs help,” a familiar voice called. I looked up to see Vincento in the hallway. “Nurse, please come quickly, she’s suffering.” Nurse Bethany comes running. “Isabella, I thought you were already back in your room,” she stated. “You’ve been up far too long.” Bethany turned to Vincento. “Can you hold her for a few minutes until I grab a wheelchair?”

"You're lucky to be alive. You're staying in that bed for at least six hours or I'll sedate you." So I stayed. But I couldn't rest. Through the mate bond, I monitored Daren. He was with his mother in the critical care area, speaking to her in quiet tones I couldn't quite hear.
