As I stepped outside, I spotted a familiar figure across the street and quickly hid behind a tree. Isaiah was stepping out of a Bentley. The expensive suit he had worn last night had been replaced with the cheap T-shirt and jeans I had bought for him. Then, a middle-aged man approached him, respectfully handing over a bag. From the shape of it, I could tell it held my favorite breakfast: soy milk and a bagel. Just as Isaiah took the bag, another car pulled up in front of him. A man I recognized stepped out—he was the CEO of a tech company, someone my friend worked for.

"Isaiah, who gave this to you?" "The owner-" "I know, but is he still here? Can you point at him?" "He said not to say," the kid persisted. "Buddy, you're not usually this secretive," "Well...he's giving us food," "I give you food," "What does it say?" the kid asked. "You're not telling me who gave you this, so I won't tell either," "That's not fair, Daddy," Isaiah whines. "Tell me now," "You first," "Daddy," "Okay one question, is he still here? Yes or no?"

We have lived in harmony with other species for just as long, and our bond with each other has grown stronger. Isaiah is now four, and a whirlwind of energy. He is a big brother to Gabriel and Elise. They are three and one. I told Elijah I don’t want any more children, to which he replied I had to tell the Moon Goddess. If she decides to bless us a fourth time, I will be going to her world and smack her! Grandmother or not, I don’t want any more children, and so far she has listened. It also helps that we are using protection.

Wayne ordered Tom in a flat tone. “Yes Sir.” Tom was right on it and immediately brought out his phone. Isaiah worked for the government. He was the definition of the geeky computer guy in spy movies who stayed back at the base and communicated to everyone through headphones. If anyone needed to be found then Isaiah was the most likely bet and he owed Wayne a few favors. Wayne could have found out where Victor was a long time ago but why would he have been busy seeking out the competition? Plus his conscience would have bothered him if he had found out where Victor was and kept if from Rose; when he knew how much it meant to her.

Yet burning with something that terrified me. "We gather," she said, her voice low and steady, but so powerful it carried to every soul there. "Not only to mourn, but to honor. Isaiah was not just a Seer. He was the balance in this chaos. He lived selflessly. And he died... protecting one of my sons; for years he had been light in dark parts to us, giving directions while we were lost and clueless while dealing with numerous foes." She paused. Her hands shook at her sides. Ryan, standing beside her, reached to hold one, but she didn’t move.

The Zen Aura around him seemed to soften slightly, clearly sensing the familiar aura on Isaiah. Seeing this, Isaiah's madness and pride intensified. Clutching at this last hope, he shouted with all his remaining strength: "Guardian, it's me! I'm Isaiah! I carry the aura you recognize! Hurry and kill them all! Don't let them enter the Nightshade Secret Realm!"

"If that is what you want and that is what you wish for then, so be it." Isaiah was the first one to make a quick protest, "Are you actually kidding me right now. No." Abruptly he turned to me, "No, Alexis, no. You can not do this you are bringing yourself up for slaughter, and no one at all she be even saying something like that."

Isaiah thought for a while, then said, "One day during dinner, he suddenly took out your photo and showed it to me, saying you were a good person." He paused, thinking back. "Right, but Louis also said it was a pity you were being used by others. I don’t remember the rest." "Oh." "Do you know where Louis went? He left a diary with me. I’m moving soon, and if he’s not here, I’ll be leaving." Isaiah sighed, then added quickly, "You must be his friend too. Can you help me give it back to him?" He assumed things on his own, deciding she must be someone Louis trusted, so he spoke freely.

Third Person's POV The second Isaiah let those words fly, Samantha was the first one to lose her cool. She looked at Trista, her face a mask of awkward desperation. "Luna Trista, your friend sure has a... colorful sense of humor." Isaiah just muttered under his breath, "I don't waste my jokes on low-level rogues." Trista shot Isaiah a warning look that screamed back off. "Isaiah, knock it off. Cassian is the biological father here; don't go trying to join the family tree just for kicks."

If we had to do this, we had to do it swiftly before word got back to Cassian. “Who’s this Isaiah?” Dayton asked, his voice as cold as his blue eyes. They were still burning with rage and impatience. I knew he’d rip the vampire’s head off if he had the chance. But that wasn’t going to do us much good. “He’s the second in command only after Cassian,” the vampire said, trembling. “He’s the only one who speaks to him directly. Every other vampire has to be brought only on Cassian’s orders. He is the one person to whom Cassian gives the authority to be flexible with his mission. He is the one you should be after.”
