From a distance, I could see the island was a jagged, rocky outcrop surrounded by reefs and shoals. The five of us sat in the boat with a dead silence, alarmed. Suddenly, an otherworldly seductive melody rang out. The lyrics, promising of fame, love and wealth. It was refreshing and calmed my nerves.
“Do…do you hear it too?” Jonathan, the boy with the brown curly hair stammered, his voice shaky.
“Yeah. We all can hear it,” Aurora scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Sounds like a kind of siren song.”
