My guards stepped aside and a woman entered, moving like a shadow given form. She was dressed in sleek black from head to toe—fitted trousers, a high-collared coat, and boots that didn’t make a sound as she walked. Her hair was long and straight, cascading down her back like dark silk. Her expression was calm, composed, almost too perfect. Around her neck hung a single obsidian pendant etched with glowing silver runes. She stopped a few feet from me and offered a shallow bow. “Lord Hades,” she said. “I am Irene. A witch, and a loyal confidant of Gamma Celeriac.”

She stood still and watched him react. He scrambled up and dusted his coat then faced her with a smile that didn't match his emotions. "Little princess actually has little secrets," he said. "You think pushing me against the wall and shattering some glasses will scare me?" He asked, and then chuckled. "I am called Hades by the way," he said. "It is a moniker I picked up over the centuries," he smiled.

Hades stood, gritting his teeth as he stomped his foot, marching towards me with the obsidian rock tightly clutched in his hands. “Alright. Close your eyes, Eros, and within minutes you shall join me.” I felt Hades’ hands descending down on my forehead and the weight of a millennia being lifted out of my brain. I squeezed my eyes shut, refusing the urge to cry as I struggled against myself, trying not to stop Hades from doing what he is doing for it hurts.

He cautiously asked. “Wild guess.” She was still smiling. “I’m Hailey by the way.” She waved her hand up in the air. “Damen. Damen Laurent.” He nodded lightly. “Ah, can you tell me… which way to go?” “Oh, yes. Second floor. Down the hall. Left side. 2B.” “All right. Thank you.” He smiled again. “Have fun you too.” She said and walked away.
