I watched in shock as Grace smiled and pinned a dried lily of the valley to her chest. The next second, she rushed toward the bridge barrier without hesitation.
"If I had known that it would end like this, I should have taken you away no matter the cost."
Those were the final words Grace spoke before her death.
Remembering the shock of that moment, I looked at Grace before me, briefly lost in thought.
"What are you thinking about?" she asked.
Her pleasant voice reached me, and my Adam's apple bobbed unconsciously. I was just about to answer when a discordant voice shattered the moment.
