All that remains is a desperate yearning for liberation from this overwhelming despair. "But after today, Shane, the shadow of this pain will cling to you relentlessly. It will become an inseparable part of your existence, haunting every waking moment," a disembodied voice seems to whisper, accentuating the ominous atmosphere around him. The world seems to shrink, suffused with the melancholy of his heartbreak.
