"Scarlett, Scarlett."
A bright female voice pulled me back from my thoughts.
"Your phone's been ringing forever. Maybe it's something important?"
I glanced down at the screen. It was Tony. I hesitated, then answered.
"Scarlett," his voice came through, low and familiar. "Tomorrow's my thirtieth birthday. Will you come home? We could… have dinner together."
Before I could reply, he added quickly, almost nervously, "Mamma misses you."
"Alright," I said with a small laugh. "I'll come."
