DANIELLE'S P.O.V. Waking up with an hangover was probably the worst thing to happen to anyone in the world. What kind of spirits exactly do they use in the production of alcohol? Why in the world could something so sweet and bubbly be just as deadly? I let out a sharp breath and groaned loudly as I woke up. My head felt like someone was playing on it- like it was a conga drum, my forehead felt just about ready to split open, and my tongue tasted like I had washed and rinsed it with soapy water.

"Shouldn't you be happy? Because Totoy's Dad is here?" I smiled bitterly as I tasted the familiar bitterness. "How can I do that when I know that in the first place, I wasn't deserving to feel happiness?" She fell silent and just looked up at the sky. The moon was full, and the stars were scattered; I wanted to smile because it was my favorite scene before, but I couldn't because those memories were replaced by nightmares. "The sky is beautiful, isn't it? So many stars, and they're shining brightly." I nodded and continued looking up. "But it would be more attractive if there were no stars and moon. Just a plain black sky," I told her without thinking about what I was saying.

I had prayed because I’m human it might not actually happen, but I feel it there in my heart. His bond. My half-mate. I feel a pull to him that I can’t endure. It’s not attraction, but it’s not unpleasant either. I gulp my fear. Finally, Nester pulls away. He smiles at me with teeth stained red. My blood, dripping down his lips. The sad part was that I'd indeed fallen for those underhanded tactics more times than I could count. When I didn't touch the soup, he inched closer with a playful smile. "Are you waiting for me to feed you? Are you still mad at me?" I quickly put some distance between us, repulsed by his attempts at sweetness. Once he realized I wasn't reacting the way I used to, his embarrassment turned to anger. "Cassandra, are you still not over it? Don't tell me you're still suspicious of my relationship with Olivia. I've already told you countless times that Olivia's my niece!

The only favours he could taste were her tears. A salty sweetness… and they came with an aftertaste. Bitterness. That was what their first kiss tasted like. I bite my lip before finally digging in. I gasp when the food touch my tongue. Shems, it feels like it also touch my heart. I look at the cake again. It's coton candy color cake with explosion of chocolate in the inside. "You like it?" Midnight ask. I pout and nodded my head. "It's not too sweet as what it should taste because of the look. It's actually Bittersweet." I never taste this kind of cake before. "Of course it's Bittersweet. I experimented that taste in our main cafè." Midnight proudly said. My eyes open wide while looking at her.

He made a face as the bitter content washed down his throat. “What the hell.” Enzo snapped the moment he was done drinking it. “Why the hell is this so bitter?” Devine shrugged, slumping onto the couch next to Enzo. “I like it bitter.” “We never like it bitter else we are going through some bitter shit.” “We are always going through bitter shit,” Devine replied almost immediately and Enzo stared at Devine for not longer than two seconds before raising a hand for the waiter he earlier dismissed. “Did you lose a deal?” Enzo inquired redirecting his gaze back to Devine.

I will have to wake someone for that." I said. "Just hold on a see and the bitter taste will go. Believe me, it works efficiently." I tried convincing him to stay still. "Hold on? I can't survive a minute with this bitter taste on my tongue. Where the hell did you get this herb from? It's needs to be cut off and burnt."
