Everly and I are engaged, and we are planning our wedding. If you don’t leave me alone, I will have you fired or moved to a different location. Her expression softened before a mischievous glint entered her eyes. “Well…” she dragged out teasingly, “it also seems like Alpha Daniel cares about you quite a lot.” Fuck. She noticed. She revealed. “Maybe he’s just in a bad mood today.” Alex offered. “He’s always in a bad mood.” Isis countered. “Any how enough about that, what’s the deal with you and Jared?” Isis was pleased to see the colour rising in Alex’s cheeks. She was fond of Jared and trusted her best friend to him. “Well, he and I are officially dating.” Alex’s voice shook with emotion. “Really!” Isis squealed, she grabbed hold of Alex’s palm and squeezed. “That’s awesome! Lenie mocked. Alexis shook his head. He wanted to understand his ex-girlfriend because he knew how much she was going through. He took a deep breath before responding. “Don’t worry, I’ve already approved your resignation letter. I’ll have Vanessa process your final paycheck later,” Alexis said, his voice tinged with sadness. But Lenie ignored it. “Thanks,” Lenie said before turning her back on him. Before she could leave, Alexis called her name again. “Lenie, if you ever want to see Javi, just let me know. You can meet him in secret if you’d like.” Alexis smiled, hoping that mentioning the child’s name would make Lenie soften toward him.
