"You look beautiful," Charles told me as he stares at me. I nodded, thanking him. "I got a pair of shoes, for her since the first pair of my wife's shoes did fit her," he told mamma. My mom took it from him and urged me to sit on the side of the bed; while she helped me put them on. "These are called heels," my mamma told me as I stared at the fancy red shoes. "The heels are not too long, so, I guess you'll be able to wear them without falling," Dr. Charles's said at the door.

I stammered, stepping back quickly. "No problem," he replied, brushing off the moment as if it hadn't happened. I drew back as I tried to take a step, the pain in my ankle stopping me. Charles crouched down, examining my foot. "You're limping," he observed. "It's fine," I said stubbornly, but he wasn't convinced. "Hop on," he said, turning around and bending slightly. "What? No way!" I protested. "That's an order," he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
