"Uhm, can I have your ticket?" Kane raised a brow, amusement flickering in his blue eyes. "Ticket?" he repeated, his voice deep, teasing. The redhead—Mona, according to her name tag—bit down on her plump lower lip, her gaze darting everywhere except at him. "Sorry, it's just... you look familiar." That made him chuckle. Oh, really? He tilted his head slightly, his gaze flickering to the large poster plastered beside her booth—a giant picture of himself, fists raised, the underground champion.

Kirk's silver eyes darted around the room, taking in his surroundings with an unnerving intensity. His nostrils flared as he inhaled, processing the scents around him. When he spoke, his voice was rough and strained. "Water... I need water." Jazz fetched a glass of water while Paul and Leah helped Kirk sit up. He gulped down the water when Jazz handed it to him, droplets spilling down his chin. As he drank, the silver glow in his eyes faded, returning to their normal color.

Jake’s jaw tightened slightly, but he said nothing, waiting for Joseph to continue. “That’s why we’ve decided,” Joseph said, gesturing to Tammy, “that Tammy will take on the role of Luna. She’s strong, capable, and comes from a respected lineage. She’s the perfect choice to lead this pack alongside you.” Tammy smiled and stood, smoothing out her dress. “It’s an honor, Alpha,” she said sweetly. “I know it’s sudden, but I believe we can do great things together.” Jake stared at her for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then he let out a long, exasperated sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.

I didn’t think Gunnar would get over my revelation any time soon. “I’m going to bed,” I said when Kiran stood up with his empty cup. “It’s not that bad, Kai. We all messed around when we were younger,” Kiran said. Both our heads turned at the sound of the screeching brakes in the driveway and I clenched my jaw as James burst into the house. His eyes had darkened with anger and his skin was rippling with the presence of his wolf. “James,” Kiran said as he stood by the counter.
