My Sweet Surrender (Aftermath Series #1)

My Sweet Surrender (Aftermath Series #1)

Because one thing is for sure, I don't want to grow old and be a crazy cat lady. I went out of the house, holding the shop's key and the book. I went there, looking left and right to catch Dom around. But there's no sign of him in the fields. I patiently waited in the shop while reading Jane Eyre and channeling the main character's energy to my own. A few customers from houses a few meters away came, mostly children buying things for their parents.

The Return of Luna

The Return of Luna

In an instant, Jane, the trusted maid, was stunned, and everyone in the room was shocked as well! Luna Sandra's face had returned to its calmness. Luna Sandra was still composed and noble. She coldly rebuked Jane, "Letting others see me worried, you went alone! I've warned you repeatedly, quickly bring new clothes! How can you be so slow? Emma is the Third young lady of our Seldom family, the beloved daughter of the Prime Minister. How can you tolerate your delay? Look at yourself, telling a Third young lady to wear such clothes outside. What decency is left? You want to sow discord between us and let others mock me for being a ruthless mother to a Third young lady, right?!"

at that point since she left when Karen, the chief servant, called for her. It is truly mysterious, but I am unable to keep my lips raised. Emma is a trustworthy young maid, but I can sense something is up. I shake my head. The book opens itself just as I'm ready to do so. Pages circle endlessly, but the brown papers with the cursive writing remain visible until they come to an abrupt stop in the middle. I take a closer look at what the book page shows, I can't help but furrow my brows. "The life that perishes shall be made alive again,

The Lycan Princess and the Temptation of Sin

The Lycan Princess and the Temptation of Sin

I’ve lived my life, protecting myself from the world, from disappointment, betrayal and lies, but with her, I began to bring down those walls until I didn’t even know when my feelings developed into so much more without even seeing a glimpse of her. I skim over her collection, Motorcycle Club, Mafia... Disney Villain tales… and then there are the classics that she accidentally slipped out that she reads before denying she read them. I crouch down. They may be at the bottom, but the books have been read and I can’t help but smile. Jane Eyre, Anne of Green Gables, Pride and Prejudice, The Thirteenth Tale… Smiling, I take out the first book in the Anne of Green Gables collection, remembering ho

Oh Muse. Since Scarlett and Elijah I am absolutely hooked on your books and just can't get enough. You are brilliant, and every new story you write is even better than the previous one (if that's even possible). Skyla and Royce are no different. Great story plot, amazing characters. Just loved it.<3

My resistant Alpha

My resistant Alpha

I preferred to go into a staring contest with an inanimate object that to look at Asher, who I might have consciously forgotten. A book on the shelf stood out, it was inconspicuously standing out among its peers; Jane Eyre. A classic I had gotten as a gift for my eighteenth birthday from Reene, thinking of my Reene my eyes began to tear up. I hadn’t contacted any one from home since and although it was barely twelve hours since I left, I could not help thinking of them.

~Saree Bee Update 12/16/21 I really appreciate your patience while I not only got through some real world issues but I went back and heavily reworked this book. I inserted a new chapter so it may seem like you had to pay for this one again but you should have gotten Ch20 which is new, for free if you'd already paid for 20. I just wanted to ensure I'd put out my best work and I felt this book needed more. I feel so much better about it now! No more rushing I hope!

I was uncertain if I liked it for the first 5-10 chapters but I kept going & it was worth it. Everything eventually made sense & was explained through the book. it was different from other books on this app that just explains as they go, and I loved the change!

Hi author, I just want to say I'm thoroughly enjoying this book. Love Mila! I just have one question: why did Damon end up marking trixie? Was it because Damien marked trixie, mate bond pull, to be king, or did he care for her prior to that? I didn't see it mentioned or discussed or asked by Trixie.

I'm really sorry that the first chapter is so short and has so many parts but from the second chapter onwards the length increases and the chapters flow steadily so please keep reading. This book is unedited so if there are any spelling errors or typos please bring it up in the comments and I will definitely correct it to enhance your reading experience. This book is part of 'THE MISTER TRILOGY' with this being the first book. The order of the books are as follows: • Reading Mr. Reed • Owning Mr. Churchill • Breaking Mr. Black I hope you enjoy the book lovelies... WARNING!

Brother-in-law Is My Chosen Mate

Brother-in-law Is My Chosen Mate

“At least there isn’t any danger here “, Jane retorted, still looking around. She was looking through a stack of books on a cabinet like her life depended on it. I began to question the sense in even coming here in the first place. I didn’t know what I had hoped to find and Chloe was right; it was reckless. And I couldn’t afford to be reckless, especially not now. I was about to sink a little into despair when Jane called out. “Look I found something.” She held up a little black book that was almost identical to the one I found in my father’s study. There was only more gibberish inside. Both of us froze instantly as if in sync. There were sounds of footsteps coming from the front porch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reading 'Jane Eyre' feels like uncovering layers of a manuscript that’s evolved over time. The third edition isn’t just a reprint—Charlotte Brontë made subtle but impactful changes. The most notable is the preface she added, defending her novel against critics who called it 'coarse' or 'unfeminine.' It’s fascinating how she uses this space to clap back at societal expectations, almost like a mic drop before the story even begins. The language itself got polished, too. Some phrasing tightened up, making Jane’s voice sharper. The first edition had raw edges, while the third feels more deliberate, like Brontë knew exactly how to weaponize Jane’s quiet defiance.

Another tweak? The infamous 'madwoman in the attic' scenes. Bertha’s portrayal got slight refinements, making her more tragic and less monstrous. It’s wild how small edits can shift a character from a plot device to a symbol of colonial and gendered oppression. Even the pacing changes—some chapters flow better, with descriptions trimmed for tension. If the first edition is a draft screaming with passion, the third is the version where every word earns its place. You can tell Brontë fought for this story’s soul, revision by revision.
