“If she’s still under, I’ll do it.” Draven nodded once. “No,” Jane whispered. All eyes snapped to her. Her voice shook, but her chin lifted the smallest fraction. “No,” she repeated, stronger. “Not Kade.” Kade raised a brow. “Jane—” “No,” she said, eyes bright with angry tears. “If… if she doesn’t… wake…” Her voice broke. She swallowed hard, forced the words out anyway. “Then it should be him.” She jerked her chin at Draven.

“You guys prepare to tell me that I’m nuts. Okay?” “No problem.” Emma’s response was serious, and I knew she wouldn’t hesitate. It would’ve made me laugh if I wasn’t freaking out. “Eliza Wrath looks like Ashley Greene.” I looked from one pair of eyes to the other to see if they were following me. They both looked lost. “The actress who played Alice on Twilight.” “Right,” Lucy said, nodding. “What’s Twilight?” Emma asked. “It’s a movie,” Lucy replied, barely glancing at her and then back at me.

The tallest, dark-haired woman took charge. Kit moved toward the bathroom without a word. “I’m Breeze,” the tallest one informed her softly. “There are a lot of us and I don’t know if you know our names. Kit is in the bathroom.” She then nodded toward the redhead. “This is Rusty and the silent one is Sunshine. Sunshine, go find her something comfortable to wear after her bath.” Sunshine went to Ellie’s closet. Ellie stared up at Breeze in shock while the woman frowned back at her.

The wolf looks at me with evident fury for having kissed someone else. "Come, we have to go," he points to the deep forest with his snout. I turn and see Jake still unconscious from the blow.
