“I have no intention to cause any harm to any of you,” Evan plainly assured him. “I know that your boss is very fair minded. I’m sure that this matter with Jensen will be handled internally. I know that he has acted outside of your boss’s interests, and I’m sure he’ll be punished for it. That being said, thank you for saving me. I really was stuck there towards the end.”
“Because of the injury,” Arthur muttered, and he watched him for a long moment, holding his arm in a grip like talons. “I see, but...” he stopped himself. “A hunting accident?” he said again.
“Yes, Mr. Bayard,” Evan said, smiling. “The kind where the wolf lives.”
