Eventually, Zara hung up and returned to the room. She changed into a baggy black T-shirt and shorts, letting her massive red hair fall loosely around her shoulders. The shirt dipped low on one side, exposing a hint of her collarbone and smooth skin. She walked out quietly—only to freeze at the sight in the kitchen. Jaxon stood shirtless at the counter, stirring something in a pot. His broad back rippled with muscle and scars, the gray sweatpants riding low on his hips. The tension in his arms, the veins on his forearms, the sheer quiet power in the way he moved—it all hit her like a slap of heat.

“Makes me feel like a Queen.” Jada snorted, but rushed forward when I wobbled, nearly tipping over from where I sat on the toilet seat. Her hair was different this week, styled in two thick braids that ran down her head and dropped well below her breasts. I swallow and ignore Sasa howling inside like a lunatic. She keeps pacing, scratching, tugging at me. I mentally shove her into a corner. She huffs dramatically and sulks. I grab the tray and straighten my shirt with one hand. My new short hair still feels strange brushing against my neck. Some pieces are sticking out weirdly, but whatever. His 6 ft 4 height was towering over her 5 ft 7 frame, making it compulsory for her to look up at him. He had short golden hair which was slicked back and bright green eyes which he covered with large rimmed glasses. His lips were round and full, fitting his well-chiseled face perfectly. Even without making an effort, he was already handsome. And, if Jade was a little bit like other girls, she'd have fallen for him. "What's your problem, Bucket?" She sassed coldly, glaring at him. "Your actions have really gone out of line, Jade. Come back with me and I promise to make sure you don't get expelled." Shawn uttered calmly and retracted his hand from Jade's.
