Gaia couldn’t understand them, but they felt important, as if they were watching her.
Then, from the shadows, they came—the Sentinels of Dreadfall.
They looked like ghosts, their forms wrapped in armor that glimmered faintly in the dim light. They moved silently, with a strange grace that sent chills through Gaia. Their empty eyes stared at her, cold and unblinking.
One sentinel, taller and more fearsome than the rest, stepped forward. Its presence was overwhelming, and when it spoke, its voice was deep and cold.
“You are the one foretold,” it said, addressing Gaia directly. “The key to what is, and what must be.”
