There had been news of rogue attacks on other packs, and they needed to be prepared in case the attack came their way. Behind him, Jordan and three other warriors stood guard, pitching in once in a while. But he heard none of their suggestions. He tapped his foot impatiently, his fingers working restlessly as time slowly counted past. Then he looked up suddenly. He perceived her scent before he saw her. One of the guards stood beside her, holding her gloved hand as he led her to the entrance of the temple.
