As the guardians scrambled to their feet, the temple's entrance continued to close, and the mysterious figure advanced, the air around it crackling with power. The guardians were trapped between the approaching threat and the rapidly sealing temple. Their next move could determine their fate, and the fate of the realms they sought to protect.

"They are my blood. My mates's blood." ​"They are the children of the Black Winter and a traitor’s daughter," a new voice boomed. ​The infirmary doors didn't just open; they were commanded to part. Three men in heavy, charcoal-colored robes stepped inside. In the center was Elder Valerius, a man whose skin looked like yellowed parchment and whose eyes held the cold calculation of a winter vulture. Behind them stood a squad of the Temple Guard—warriors who answered only to the Council, not the King.

“Every guard reports the same thing. The moonstone is gone from our grasp, and they believe they are untouchable. Mobilize. Attack the temple. Retrieve it, and do not fail.” The generals and advisors bowed and moved quickly, assembling the kingdom’s most elite forces. Spellcasters gathered in tight circles, weaving wards and enchantments designed to suppress and break through the temple’s defenses. Elite warriors sharpened weapons, checked armor, and mounted steeds, their eyes blazing with the promise of battle.

The room was silent. A few seconds later, I opened my eyes and one small look and another coffee sip and Jace hit two of his fingers twice against his other palm, and a small signal later, the rest of the guards materialized. Their aura's hidden behind some of the cloaks, hoods and Chester suits they wore. I scanned their faces. They looked as serious as they always looked. An army of loyal strong men. Betrayal would be to their deaths and they knew, they knew that it wouldn't even be a quiet one. Jerome would make sure of that.

The majestic feel of the shrine completely dissipated. The chatter and laughter were instantly gone as well. Nobody thought someone would actually cause trouble in a place like this! All eyes were on Harvey and the others at this moment. They could also clearly see four security guards lying on the ground, paralyzed. Outside the temple, Jed was standing by a tree, his knuckles almost turning white as he looked at the temple doors, his eyes full of anything but cold anger and frustration. “Master Jed, we’re ready to take the doors open!” One of the guards said from behind. Jed bit his lower lip and sighed. He took in deep breaths before signaling the guards with a hand. “No.” The guards blinked. “Huh? But you said the alpha prince and the slave can’t—”

Lucas asks. “I tried they scrambled it pretty well. Sorry man,” Ted says shaking his head. “I think Kelly is pretty impressive and I jerk of to her picture, but I’m not after your mate.” “Eww” I say making a face at Ted. “Sorry you are hot,” Ted smirks. “Keep it to yourself,” Lucas tells him. “Yeah, so I’m sending 8 guards out now they should land pretty soon. They are all parents of older children, experienced and capable. I trust them all with my life, and the lives of Luke, Fred, Cindy, Kelly and the Gammas,” Ted tells us.
