My face burned hot and I felt wet between my legs just reading it. I took the notebook and went straight to the attic. Ethan was already there, tuning his guitar. When I walked in, he smiled at first, but then he saw what I was holding. His face changed. “Jenna… what are you doing with that?” he asked, voice shaky. I held it up. “I found your secret journal. You wrote all these dirty things about me. About tying me up and… and fucking me. Is this really how you think about your stepsister?” My voice was a mix of mad and turned on. I felt embarrassed but also powerful.

I asked with a mischievous smirk. Jenna’s lips curved into a smirk of her own. “Tons,” she replied, her tone playful. “…But you should probably ask Kate about that. I don’t feel like it’s my place to say.” She stared me down with a challenging little smile, throwing my own words back at me. I shook my head and chuckled softly. “Kate was right,” I said. “You definitely give off Juno vibes.” Jenna raised an eyebrow. “Who’s Juno?”

I said, changing the topic as my eyes found the truck. Jenna’s face squeezed, but I knew that my friend was interested too. “Before food?” “Yes,” I replied, and Jenna nodded. Before long, we were chatting away at the restaurant, and all was well since Jenna had not only secured us the best booth in her but also their famous bestselling recipe. “How’s work been? Anything particularly interesting happening lately?” I asked as we dug into our food. Jenna waved me away, red hair falling into her face as she took a bite. “Work is boring as hell, but that’s a good thing in the line. It’s better to be cautiously watching the borders than actively fighting to keep attackers away.”

Cole noticed his sister’s smile fading at the mention of Andrew Pierce’s name so he quickly changed the subject, “Jenna Smith’s computer doesn’t have anything else worth looking at…. Which was her normal look so I couldn't tell what was going on. I turned to Mrs. McKenzie.
