I felt helpless. "It's nice to finally formally meet you Channing. Tate's told me all about you," she greeted with a smile. The crows feet under her eyes picked up with her grin and her olive skin creased in the corners of her mouth. Her short brown hair was styled in a pixie cut along with a pair of chic eyeglasses. I can't believe she's able to beat Tate and Cristian around like they say she can! "I-it's nice to meet y-you t-to-too Luna F-Frances," I sputtered. Her smile faltered a bit. "Hon it's just Frances. You're the Luna now. How are you feeling? Are you in pain. I can get Dr. Geeson in here," Frances said quickly.

Luna obviously wouldn't tell her Clarice's true identity. "You don't know? Aren't you Nicholas's assistant? You don't know? Let me tell you, don't try to deceive me." Jessica puffed up her cheeks and said angrily. "How could I dare to lie to Miss Johnson? If you have nothing else, I'll leave first." Luna was too lazy to entertain her further at this point. "Stop!" Seeing that Luna wanted to escape, Jessica immediately stopped Luna and turned to look at her.

Jessica looks back at the others, but they are contemplating disobeying Nalani. Even though she hadn't had a ceremony to induct her officially as Luna, Duncan still accepted her. Disobeying her wouldn't go well with them. The ladies pair up, and Jessica frowns. However, she looks at Nalani with mirth and says, "Oh, look. I don't have a partner, why don't we pair up?" That sounds like a challenge.

It was always something like: Nolan, you know I can come over anytime you want. Except for today. Today she was inviting me to go on a date with her for a family picnic or some shit like that. “This chick is obsessed,” I said to myself. I mean, I couldn't blame her. I was Nolan Walters, getting obsessed over me was pretty normal. Still, Jessica seemed a little too clingy. Ugh! Just as I was about to toss the phone aside, a thought crept into my mind. Jessica was Eve's cousin. I wasn't sure if they were close or not but they were related. I could use Jessica to get to Eve. Whatever that meant.

Jessica argued. "My friends are laughing at me. The Delaneys are questioning the alliance. You nearly got killed, and your nephew was tortured, all because of some low-class girl? If she had died in the hostage crisis, Noah, I wouldn't care. We could just pay off her family. But now she's a scandal!" I swallowed hard, shrinking back in my chair. Jessica had a death wish talking to Uncle Noah like that. "Jessica," Noah said. I could practically hear him standing up. "Let me remind you of two things. One: We are not engaged. Two: Elena Campbell is under my employ. She is a talented asset I am using for a project."

I look after him with a smile of pure unadulterated satisfaction on my face, and Silvan just sighs. “This rumor mill of yours is going to be your downfall one day, Jessica.” He says, shaking his head. “If only this was a rumor, Silvan.” I answer back, remembering something. “Oh by the way, your little favourite bitch is not dead after all it seems. Nolan says His Highness came flying in and reported they were on their way back, but caught trouble and she had to use her powers so much it drained her. Shame really. She could have been dead, just to make my day really good.”

The call came on a Monday evening. Jessica was preparing to leave the gallery when her phone vibrated. At first she almost ignored it. The number wasn't saved. The area code was unfamiliar. Normally she would have let it ring out. Something made her answer. "Hello?" For several seconds, nobody spoke. Then a woman's voice emerged. Quiet. Uncertain. "Natalie gave me your number." Jessica frowned. Natalie was one of the Oak Project volunteers. Immediately, her attention sharpened.

Naomi asked quietly, leaning against the wall for support. “Nothing,” Riley said firmly. “The fewer people who know about this, the safer everyone stays. This Jessica person doesn’t need to get dragged into this mess.” I opened the door to find Jessica sitting on her bed in pajamas, painting her nails. I swear that girl has some addiction to nail polish. “Oh my god, there you are,” she said, capping her nail polish and giving us her full attention. “I’ve been worried sick about you guys. I thought you were going to meet Jonathan. How did it go?”
