Death's Day
Outside, the darkness slowly settled over the city, blurring out the light.
Jack heard the sound after he fell asleep holding his brother’s hand. Jason, their elder brother was not yet back, and there was no indication that he would be. They had both been waiting for him before they fell asleep. At 8, both twins were still too young to do anything for themselves, so the thought had not yet occurred to them to get out of the house. Besides, darkness loomed outside, and to their young and impressionable mind, that meant danger.
“Tim, wake up,” Jack said, pulling at his brother.
