“No, don't. Let her enjoy her sleep. At least one of us deserves not to cry tonight,” Adams said in a joking manner, trying to lighten the mood.
Mrs Bright made a choking laugh, then hugged her son for the very last time, her voice barely audible as she whispered, "I love you so much."
“I love you too, Mum,” Adams said before pulling out of the hug before he was tempted to stay there forever, his voice filled with love and sorrow.
“Goodbye, Dad,” he said, giving his father a warm hug before opening the door and going outside, his voice filled with sadness and longing.
