"But I couldn't help noticing you from the bar. I'm Damian." "Nadia," I said, shaking the hand he offered, keeping it brief. "And I'm the friend who's going to leave you two alone to talk." Jessica announced, already sliding out of the booth despite my sharp glare.

“Who is that guy talking to Janet?” “David. He has been obsessed with Janet for a while, she told me. A pastor’s son. He got kicked out of his church for the exposure of his father investing in us, and he was a regular customer.” Jason looked at him, seeing the fear in his eyes. “Hey, what’s the matter?” Damien shook his head and put on a smile to shake his nerves. “Nothing. I’m fine.” He lied. “Let’s continue to greet the guests.”

**Lennon (11:05 AM):** working out? **Damian (11:06 AM):** Yeah! **Lennon (11:06 AM):** can i see? A few seconds stretched. Lennon stared at the screen like it might bite him. Then the photo loaded. Damian in the penthouse gym—shirtless, skin gleaming with fresh sweat under the overhead LEDs. Chest carved, shoulders broad, arms flexed from whatever set he’d just finished. One hand held the phone out for the mirror selfie; the other raked back through damp, dark hair. A single bead of sweat traced a slow, devastating path down the center of his sternum, past the snarling bear tattoo, disappearing into the deep V below his navel. The waistband of his black gym shorts sat low. Too low.

Although Xavier was a ten, he somehow never exuded this level of confidence mixed with liveliness. “Do you know what we're listening to?” I ask, utterly consumed by the music. Really, I seem to be having a good time mostly around Damien, he sometimes brings out my inner child, other times he draws me out of my miseries, most times he makes me daydream about him fucking the shit out of me, which is completely weird. “ Oh, we're listening to creepin in by Norah Jones and Dolly Parton, do you like it?” “Damien, it's so nice.”

Turning back to the creek, knowing it was going to sap his strength quickly if he stayed in it too long; he began to walk up stream. Damien walked about a half mile before getting out of the creek on the opposite side. He figured that the humans wouldn't want to cross this creek with the water temperature as low as it was, plus the distance he had traveled almost guaranteed they wouldn't find his trail. Still leaving a blood trail, he walked into the woods and headed for the Front Range.

"Yes 5 years old..." Jack answered... "Kidnap him..." Damian ordered and jack nodded.

Standfast was being a DJ for the night, expertly controlling some energetic blend of music. Words of praise and suggestions hit Donovan from every corner. His friends were a mix of some frat and non frat members. "Latest husband to be!" "Greatest P.O!" "Make your choice!" "Show us your prowess!" their voices urged, their fervour an intoxicating elixir fuelling his every move. His gaze glided over the trio, their hypnotic allure tempting him to succumb to the pleasures of the evening.
